In the hopes of bringing projects from New York to Rome and joining an international network of river initiatives, Jones reached out to the River to River Festival in NYC, who offered an opportunity to show the Rome-inspired work on the Hudson River.
The 2006 program Ombre dal Lupercale, a series of sound and animation collaborations for the Tiber, was transposed for three downtown Manhattan sites along the Hudson: Castle Clinton, the South Street Seaport and South Cove in Battery Park City. The various sites offered different opportunities for projections and sound, including animations projected on the water, on trees, and on Castle Clinton’s facade.
She Wolves: from Tiber to Hudson drew the public to the water’s edge and brought the mythic Roman She-Wolf to life in a fusion of water, sound and light, transforming outdoor river spaces along the banks of the Hudson with animations and music.
