In the exquisite garden of the Accademia degli Arcadi is a lively procession of Roman She-Wolves, encircling the elliptical garden of Bosco Parrasio. Traced from historical references, the delicate mirrored surface of the figures reflects the greenery of its’ surroundings, in fluid conversation with the viewer, the surrounding light and the environment.

Bosco Parrasio is a ‘Parisian Grove’ on The Janiculum, overlooking the city of Rome. The grove had been the summer meeting place of the Arcadian Poets, a literary collective intent on Italian poetry’s return to its’ pastoral roots. This installation was a gift to Sandra Carrado, who currently resides in the villa. The She-Wolves, which made their first appearance on the banks of the Tiber River for the Wolflight installation celebrating Rome’s birthday, were the result of a long-term collaboration with archeological historian and scholar Claudio Parisi Presicce. This project at Bosco Parrasio is the second iteration of Jones’ She-Wolf trilogy and marks the wolves’ migration into the woods.
