In the Eternal City of Rome, Kristin Jones’s Tevereterno-2016 was a fabulous experience for me as a photographer. My intent was simply to document the setup of this massive, artistic event, William Kentridge’s Triumphs and Laments. My month long efforts, as much as possible, were divided between the painted performance site along the Tiber – Piazza Tevere, to the spacious studios of Macro Testaccio where the music and choral rehearsals were being conducted, as well as the construction and preparation of the puppets, and costumes for this celebration on parade!
